Muslim Leaders Ask For Increased Police Presence at California Mosques

Letters to California mosques praise Donald Trump, promise genocide.

Washington, 27 Safar 1438/27 November 2016 (MINA) – The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) requested for an increased police presence at several California mosques Saturday after several received “hate-filled” letters supporting President-elect Donald Trump.

According to Kuwait news agency KUNA, the letters were sent to Islamic Centers in Long Beach, Claremont, and San Jose.

“The hate letter was addressed to the ‘Children of Satan.’

The writer of the letter called Muslims a ‘vile and filthy people’ and called on them to ‘pack your bags and get out of dodge,'” said a CAIR statement.

“It also said that President-elect Donald Trump is ‘going to cleanse America and it make it shine again.'”

CAIR has recorded a spike in incidents against American Muslims and other minority groups since the US held elections.

Over 100 anti-Muslim incidents have occurred according to CAIR and over 700 incidents have targeted different minority groups as recorded by the Southern Poverty Law Center.

Additionally, newly-released FBI hate crime statistics show a 67 percent jump in anti-Muslim incidents in 2015, the statement highlighted.
