Ministry: Bangladesh Government Will Handle the Distribution of Aid from Indonesia

Jakarta (MINA) – President Joko Widodo on Wednesday (13/9) saw offt the delivery of Indonesia’s assistance to Rohingya at Halim Perdana Kusuma airport. The distribution of aid will be handed over to the government of Bangladesh.the

This was conveyed by Foreign Ministry Spokesman Armanatha Nasir in a press conference with reporters in Jakarta, Thursday (14/9).

“The aid will be distributed under the cooperation of the Bangladesh government with IOM and UNHCR and will be submitted under their authority,” he told the media.

Amidst concerns among the community about whether the Indonesian aid would reach Rohingya’s hands or not, the government sent 18 volunteers together with the delivery of the aid.

Humaaitarian assistance in the form of rice, ready meals, water tanks, tents, children’s clothing and blankets weighing about 34 tons was transported with four aircraft Hercules ndonesian Air Force.

“This is the first shipment. Insha Allah, next week will be dispatched (help) the second, third, and so on, “said President Jokowi in the delivery event.
