Berlin, 24 Ramadan 1438/19 June 2017 (MINA) — Hotter temperatures due to climate change could lead to a forced migration of millions from Africa to Europe if environmental precautions are not taken, KUNA reported, citing a German official on Sunday.

If powerful nations fail to limit global warming by two degrees every year, an unprecedented wave of natural disasters and drought could force 100 million Africans to flee north, claimed Germany’s Development Minister Gerd Mueller.
Speaking to German newspaper Bild just under three weeks prior to a G20 summit on Africa, Mueller argues that the future of the planet rests primarily on conditions in the continent due to the rapid increase of its population.
If Africans do not find economic opportunities in their respective countries, he said, they will look for them elsewhere.
