MESHAAL: HAMAS RESPECTS EGYPT SECURITY AND INTERESTS

Photo: FJP doc      Cairo, 8 Jumadil Awal 1434/19 March 2013 (MINA) – Leader of Hamas Politic bureau Khaled Meshaal when he met Muslim Brotherhood chairman Muhammad Badie in Cairo said that Hamas and all Palestinians respect Egypt’s security and interests.

       “Hamas never interferes in Egypt’s internal affairs from any angle whatsoever. Palestinians also appreciate the great sacrifices Egypt and the Egyptian army have made for them,” said Meshaal in Badie’s office Saturday (16/3), according to official website of Freedom and Justice Party (FJP) monitored by Mi’raj News Agency (MINA).

        Meshaal appreciated Egypt for its support until now in support of the Palestinian cause. “In addition to its leadership of the Arab and Muslim nation, Egypt has always been the Palestinians’ strongest supporter in the past, present and future.”

         The two leaders discussed the cause of Palestinian, and several important issues, especially Palestinian reconciliation, prisoners, Jerusalem, and the prevailing conditions in the West Bank and Gaza Strip.

          Meshaal also said he still keeping in touch with Egyptian officials as his respectness for Egypt. “I am in touch with various officials in Egypt, especially the presidential institution and the intelligence department. All points have been explained to them. Also, we are cooperating and coordinating with them to serve the Egyptian national security.”

          Last November, Egypt mediated ceasefire between Israel and Hamas after Israeli attack on the Gaza Strip killed thousands of people, including children and women, and injuring hundreds of them.(T/P03/E1)
