Malaysia International Halal Showcase 2017 Officialy Open

Kuala Lumpur, 9 Rajab 1438/6 April 2017 (MINA) – Malaysia International Halal Showcase (MIHAS) 2017 officialy opened by Deputy Prime Minister Of Malaysia, Dato Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi at Kuala Lumpur convention Center, Wednesday .
In his speech, he said “A big congratulation to the Ministry of International Trade  and Industry and Malaysia Trade and Development Coorporation (MATRADE) for hosting this event.
“Over the past decade, we have witnessed the growingsignificance of the halal industry. It has now become animportant agenda in our discussions with most countries,” Dato Ahmad said in the statement recived Mi’raj Islamic News Agency (MINA).
Dato Ahmad explained, the potential for growth and expansion is huge, and it is not only amongs Muslim nations, but also in Western markets with growing Muslim populations.
“the global halal industry also continues to face challenges. this includes the low level of awereness and understanding of halal,” he added.
He said, currently, there are more than 200 certification bodies around the world, issuing their own halal certificates and logos. This is the challenge, the lack of single unified standard.(L/R04/RS5)
