Amman, MINA – The Palestinian women’s national football team secured a 2-0 victory over Malaysia in a friendly match held at Petra Stadium in Amman on Saturday. This match was part of a three-team tournament.
As reported by Wafa, Palestine dominated play throughout the first half and created numerous chances. Narin Abu Asfar nearly opened the scoring with a direct free kick, while Nour Youssef’s shot at the end of the first half sailed narrowly wide of the Malaysian goal.
The goal came in the 60th minute. Florencia Sabat capitalized on Abu Asfar’s corner kick to find the back of the net. Just a minute later, Dalia Al-Ahmad doubled the score after receiving a well-placed pass from Nour Youssef.
Malaysia attempted to fight back with several counterattacks, but Palestine goalkeeper Charlotte Phillips performed brilliantly, making several crucial saves. The score remained 2-0 until the referee blew the final whistle.

Palestine will next play their second match of the tournament against the host team, Jordan, on Tuesday (June 9) at King Abdullah II Stadium. []
