Ramallah, MINA – There are photographs of King Salman bin Abdulaziz and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman attached with Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas and Yasser Arafat at the stadium when Palestinian Football team competed against Saudi Arabia at the Worl Cup Qualifier.

Their photos are the witness when the Palestinian Football team drew 0-0 with Saudi Arabia in the Ak-Ran Stadium, West Bank on Tuesday, October 15.

The two teams met in the 2022 World Cup qualifying round at Palestinian national stadium in Al-Ram, Palestine.

All the tickets of the match were distributed free of charge, with thousands of other queues unable to enter.

Hundreds more watched from windows or roofs of buildings overlooking the stadium, and only a few meters from the Israeli barrier that cuts across the West Bank from Jerusalem.

Arab clubs and national teams have so far refused to play in Palestinian territories occupied by Israel since 1967 because they require entry permits from Israel.

Palestinian Football Association described the arrival of the Saudi Arabian team in Palestinian territories as a “victory” situation.

Lebanon, Syria, and Egypt still refuse to play in occupied Palestinian territory.

However, other countries such as Bahrain, Morocco, the United Arab Emirates, and Oman have sent clubs and their teams to play in the West Bank. (T/Sj/P2)
