JORDANIAN AID CONVOY ARRIVES IN GAZA

Gaza City, 3 Shawwal 1435/ 30 July 2014 (MINA) – The first aid convoy dispatched by the Jordan Hashemite Charity Organization containing humanitarian and medical supplies has arrived in Gaza.

Commander of the Jordanian field hospital, Colonel Barakat al-Aqeel said that the convoy was dispatched upon directives from King Abdullah II and was supervised by Crown Prince Hussein Bin Abdullah II.

Aqeel pointed out that the aid convoy included 12 trucks containing food and humanitarian and medical supplies, Middle East Monitor (MEMO) quoted by Mi’raj Islamic News Agency (MINA) as reporting, Wednesday.

Aqeel said the Jordanian field hospital teams will deliver the food supplies to local civil society organization across the Gaza Strip who will in turn distribute them to the beneficiaries, particularly those who were forced out of their homes and those living in difficult conditions.

Colonel Suleiman al- Saudi said the medical supplies will also be distributed to hospitals in the Gaza Strip to support their efforts in dealing with the wounded.

Al- Saudi pointed out that the field hospital receives daily hundreds of patients, and conducts many major, medium and minor surgeries as well as admits patients who need to complete their treatment at the hospital. (T/E01/IR)
