Israel attacks UN Rapporteur for boycott call

The Israeli government has criticised the UN Special Rapporteur on human rights in the Palestinian territories occupied since 1967. Richard Falk has called for a boycott of all companies doing business in and with Israeli settlements in the West Bank and East Jerusalem. Israel’s UN Mission said that it was “disturbed” by the report presented by Falk to the UN General Assembly last Friday.

Falk’s report documents Israel’s ongoing violations against Palestinian citizens in the Occupied Territories. A spokeswoman for the Israeli UN Mission, Karaen Peretz, claimed that the report damages the UN’s credibility and shows that it is “grossly biased” and “completely divorced from reality”.
