INDONESIAN PEOPLE RALLIES FOR PALESTINE ACROSS COUNTRY

Jakarta, 16 Ramadan 1435/14 Juli 2014 (MINA) –  Indonesian people held rallies throughout the region to show their supports for Palestinian as well as protesting  the latest massive Israeli airstrikes in Gaza Strip.

The rallies which started  at almost provinces in the country aimed at fundraising and showing the global community about what’s  really happening in the blockade area since one week ago.

The Israeli Occupation Air Force launched its  massive airstrikes on the Gaza Strip  since last Tuesday starting by targeting Palestinian houses, mosques, as well as other buildings,  which makes  at least 166 killed dan  more than 1120  other injured, dozen of them are children and women.

In warding off the attack,  resistance fighters of Al-Qassam Brigades launched  its   various rockets, ranging from M75, J80, M302, to the latest fenomenal rocket R160, as they hit its first longest strikes to the Haifa, 160 km from the Gaza Strip.

The Israeli army said Saturday that it has hit 1,160 targets in the Gaza Strip since Monday, while the Palestinians fired a total of 689 rockets at Israeli cities.

Indonesian President and its Foreign Minister have condemned the Israeli latest attacks, which also targeting civil especially innocent children and women and their shelter, calling it as barbarous act as they always do to the blockaded area.

According to Indonesian representative in UN,  Indonesia will cooperate with the Palestinians, fellow countries of Non-Aligned Movement (NAM), the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) and other countries in encouraging the international concern about the developments in Gaza.

This was confirmed by  Indonesian President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono as he said that  his country had sent a letter to the UN, NAM, OIC  in order to pressing  Israel to halt such savage act.

Not only that, Indonesian people started held rally across country as Indonesia has 17, 504 islands in the region.

The rally which has been starting from few days ago are still on its way, as some several organisations stated they will pursue to hold such event in the few next week.

Capital Jakarta

Hundreds of Muslims marched in Jakarta, capital of Indonesia, urged Israeli troops to immediately  halts the crimes against innocent civilians in the Gaza Strip.

This demand was delivered in the Gaza Solidarity Actions  held by Jama’ah Muslimin (Hezbollah) in front of the U.S. Embassy in Jakarta, Sunday (13/7).

The secretary of the khilafatul muslimin Agus Sudarmaji in his speech said, “the brutality, the crime and  the tyranny of Israel  is inexcusable and should not be allowed to continued.”

Kalimantan Island

Based on concerns of fellow Muslims, brothers and sisters in Islam, residents in East Kalimantan, as the biggest island  in Indonesia, held some fundraising events in order to accommodate the  need of the Gazan.

The coordinator of the event said the funds would be delivered through the Aqsa Working Group (AWG) and or Medical Emergency Rescue Committee (Mer-c)  an international humanitarian aids who is building an Indonesian hospital in the north of Gaza Strip.

Sumatera Island

Sumatera as the third biggest island in Indonesia has held several rallies in its governorates such as Lampung, Medan, as well as other areas in the region.  Lampung’s coordinator event stated they will pursue such rally next week in order to show people what is really happening there in Palestine.

Dozens of students who are members of the Indonesian Muslim Student Action Union (KAMMI) staged Lampung Regional Commissioner, condemned the Israeli attacks on Gaza, in Bandar Lampung, Friday (11/7).

Arjun Fatahillah, Secretary General of KAMMI in Lampung, said in a speech, “It’s human obligation to see the reality, not only muslim.”

Java Island

Resident in the other biggest island in Indonesia, East Java,  also held on Sunday afternoon a solidarity action to support the Palestinian people in Gaza who are suffering of Israeli military aggression.

They were carrying banners supporting the Palestinian cause and some posters with criticism on the Israeli crimes against innocent civilians in the Gaza Strip.

Solidarity which is held by students of local universities also accompanied by theatrical action which describes atrocities the Israeli army against the Palestinian people. Participants also had burnt Israeli flag, as a form of their protest.(L/P03/P04)
