Indonesian Govt Express Condolences for Victims of Ethiopian Airlines Accident

Jakarta, MINA – Minister of Foreign Affairs (Foreign Minister) Retno LP Marsudi, representing the Indonesian government expressed condolences to the victims of the Ethiopian Airlines accident Bole Airport, Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.

“So again, of course, on behalf of the Indonesian government, I express deep condolences to the families of the victims of the Ethiopian Airlines plane accident from Addis Ababa to Nairobi yesterday,” Retno said at Jakarta, Monday.

Retno said that there were two Indonesian embassies that were moving at once to find information regarding the accident. According to Retno, at that time there were indeed UN activities in Nairobi and several Indonesian citizens were delegates at the event.

Based on information, an Indonesian citizen who lives in Rome was the victim of the accident. Retno stated that the Indonesian Embassy in Rome had communicated with the families of the victims and conveyed their condolences directly.

Local authorities said that the death toll raise 157 passengers and crews who came from 35 countries plus one person used a UN passport. (L/Sj/P2)
