Indonesia Tourism Introduced in Pakistan Halal Conference

Jakarta, 18 Rajab 1438/16 April 2017 (MINA) – Indonesian Ambassador to Pakistan Iwan Suyudhie Amri has said that Indonesia tourism was introduced in Pakistan halal conference.

The International conferences and exhibitions held to discuss opportunities in the halal industry cooperation was organized by the Punjab Halal Development Agency (PHDA) on 10-11 April 2017 at the Hotel Faletti Lahore-Pakistan. Antaranews reported.

Lahore, a city of industry and commerce, hosted for the sixth time of the event wth various participants both from within and outside Pakistan taking part, according to a written statement from the Foreign Ministry on Friday,

Ambassador Iwan Suyudhie Amri who was asked to give a speech at the event said that “this forum will provide a positive contribution to support the growth of the world’s halal industry”.:

The Ambassador said to the participants who were mostly halal industry players about the growth prospects of new halal markets such as Indonesia, Pakistan, China, India and Bangladesh with a total population of approximately 748.1 million Muslims.

“We have to aggressively capture the opportunities of trade cooperation in such as halal food, clothing, cosmetics and pharmaceuticals,” said the Ambassador.

Also noted by the Ambassador of the other potential industrial sectors such as halal tourism. In that regard, the Indonesian government has committed to making Indonesia the world’s halal tourism destination.

“In the World Halal Tourism Award 2016 in Abu Dhabi, Indonesia won 12 awards out of a total of 16 given to the category of World’s Best Halal Destination and World’s Best Halal Beach Resort,” said Ambassador who greeted the audience applause.

To encourage tourism promotion, the Indonesian Embassy in Islamabad has successfully collaborated with HUM TV to broadcast TV programs Travelogue Series: Wonderful Indonesia, every Sunday for six series.

The program has become a promotional tool and build awareness for the people of Pakistan on Indonesian tourism. (T/P2/RS5)
