INDONESIA TO BE CATEGORIZED DEVELOPED COUNTRY IN 2030

Jakarta,  Syaban 1436/29 May 2015 (MINA) – Rector of Yogyakarta-based Gadjah Mada University (UGM) Dwikorita Karnawati has predicted that Indonesia will begin entering as a developed country category in 2030.

“If its in stable condition, Indonesias economic condition will improve, followed by the nations competitiveness,” Karnawati said at the launch of book SCIENCE 2015 here on Tuesday, as Indonesia news agency Antara reported.

In addition, Indonesia could enter the seventh rank in the world according to statistical data, she said, adding in 2050 Indonesias population will reach 400 million.

According to her, such prediction will be more quickly achieved if supported by many young scientists in Indonesia.

Previously, former Indonesian President B.J.Habibie expressed optimism about the ability of the nations competitiveness, especially in the field of science and technology in the future. (T/P010/R04)
