Denpasar, MINA – The Center for Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics (BBMKG) Region III Denpasar has issued an early warning regarding potential high waves, forecasted to reach up to 4 meters in Bali from January 27 to 30, 2026.
“Be vigilant of potential strong winds in the northern and southern waters of Bali,” said Cahyo Nugroho, Head of BBMKG Region III, in Denpasar on Monday.
The agency predicts these high waves are likely to occur in the Badung Strait, the southern Bali Strait, the southern Lombok Strait, and Bali’s southern waters. Meanwhile, wave heights of up to 2.5 meters are expected in northern Bali waters and the northern Lombok Strait.
Based on synoptic conditions, wind patterns in northern and southern Bali are generally moving from the West-North with speeds projected to reach 25 knots (approximately 46 km/h). BBMKG Denpasar emphasized that these wind and wave conditions pose a significant risk to maritime safety.
