Indonesia Is Ready to Join 2020 World Expo in Dubai

Tangerang, MINA – The Ministry of Trade of the Republic of Indonesia has confirmed its commitment to participate, as one of the 180 participating countries, in the world expo event which to be held in Dubai in 2020.

The World Expo, themed “Connecting Minds, Creating the Future (Linking Thoughts, Creating the Future)” will be held for six months, starting from October 20, 2020 to April 10, 2021.

As  a preparation  step for the presence of Pavilion Indonesia at the World Expo in the UAE capital, the Ministry of Trade of the Republic of Indonesia launched a special program “Road to Dubai” at the 2018 Trade Expo Indonesia (TEI) exhibition at ICE-BSD Tangerang, Thursday (10/25 )

The Indonesian Ministry of Trade’s Director General of National Export Development, Arlinda, explained that this program aims to select a variety of world-class innovative collaborations between companies, governments and communities.

“The collaboration is carried out with the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) partnership model, which will show how Indonesia will be bentransformation towards Indonesia Gold 2045,” Arlinda said during the launch of “Road to Dubai”.

He said, various initiatives based on innovation, technology and human resources that have been and will be realized, to encourage progress and improve sustainable community life, will begin to be selected from now until it is ready to be displayed in the Indonesian Pavilion in 2020 Dubai world expo.

“Nation branding at Pavilion Indonesia will promote investment, business and cooperation opportunities in various fields such as trade, industry, education, e-commerce, plantations, technology, telecommunications, environment, tourism and culture. Indonesia is ready to answer the challenges of the world in the grand event of the 2020 world expo in Dubai, “said Arlinda.

Indonesian Ambassador to Abu Dhabi Husein Bagis is optimistic that the Indonesian Pavilion would be able to promote golden opportunities to invest, do business and travel to Indonesia, to expo visitors coming from various countries in the world.

“Participation in the world expo, which is held once every five years, is an important step for Indonesia to show its role and potential in the global market, as part of the journey to Indonesia Emas 2045,” Ambassador Husein said. (L/Sj)/RS5)
