Indonesia, Azerbaijan Strengthen Strategic Partnerships

Jakarta, MINA – The Bilateral relations between Azerbaijan and Indonesia have developed rapidly and dynamically since the two countries established diplomatic relations in 1992.

Deputy Ambassador of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Ruslan Nasibov stressed that high-level political relations between the two countries are based on the principles of friendship, mutual respect and cooperation.

“We work very actively in international organizations; Indonesia and Azerbaijan always support each other at the UN, OIC and other international organizations. Such support strengthens our partnership and creates stronger political ties, “said Nasibov during the 101st Anniversary of the Azerbaijan Democratic Republic and the Commemoration of 100 Years of Azerbaijani Diplomatic Service in Jakarta, Monday night.

On that occasion, Nasibov spoke on various topics ranging from bilateral diplomatic relations to reforms in the field of Azerbaijan’s economic, social and educational development.

Bilateral cooperation in the public service sector of both countries is also growing rapidly. Azerbaijan shares experiences about the ASAN service system.

ASAN or ‘Azerbaijan Service and Assessment Network’ which means Azerbaijan Service and Assessment Network, is a state institution for government services for Azerbaijan citizens.

The system makes it easy for people to access services with modern technology. ASAN’s services were awarded the 2015 UN Public Service Award for providing exemplary public services.

Azerbaijan Government continues to carry out massive reforms in all fields. The rapid economic development of Azerbaijan has changed the country.

In the past 15 years, the country’s poverty rate has dropped to 5.4 percent, while the unemployment rate is at 5 percent. Its economy has grown more than three times, and funds worth 260 billion USD have been invested in the country.

The event was also attended by Drs. Bernard Hasibuan, MMSI, Ph.D. (Vice Rector Sahid University Jakarta), Nia Amira, Dr. H.E. Bahruddin, M.Ag (Rector Ibnu Khaldun University Bogor), KH Bachtiar Nasir (Founder of AQL Islamic Centre), PR Ibnu Khaldun University Bogor, Mr. Chris Kustandi (Expert Staff of the Ministry of Transportation), Dr. Fuad Gani, S.S., M.A. (Head of Library of Univ of Indonesia), and the Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Jakarta H.E. Mr. Valiollah Mohammadi.
