IMAAMUL MUSLIMIN SUPPORTS ERDOGAN TO UNITE HAMAS AND FATAH
Jakarta, 11 Rajab 1434 / 21 May 2013 (MINA) – Imaamul Muslimin Muhyiddin Hamidy stated that he fully supported the plan of Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan to unite Hamas and Fatah factions.
“Every efforts to unite Muslim forces components to the struggle for the liberation of Al-Aqsa and Palestine, must be supported,” Imaam Hamidy told Mi’raj News Agency (MINA)’s reporter in Jakarta, Monday night (20/5).
Moreover, he said, Turkey is a Muslim country that is reckoned as one of the major forces in the world. They has a legacy of the Ottoman empire, and become one of the factors in the current Islamic awakening.
“Hamas-Fatah unity is a must in all sides, good faith, brotherhood and for the interests of the Palestinians themselves, as the unity of brotherhood which is mentioned in Surah Ali Imran verse 103, “ Hamidy said.
Imaamul Muslimin also fully supports Erdogan’s plan to visit the Gaza strip in the near future.
“We hope this visit could accelerate the development in Gaza in particular and also accelerate the struggle for the liberation of Al-Aqsa Palestine as a whole,” he said.
Imaamul Muslimin also expected Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas would be willing to visit Gaza Strip. In vice versa, Prime Minister Ismail Haniya could also visit West Bank.
In the International Conference on Liberation of Al–Aqsa and Palestine held in Bandung, Indonesia, July 2012, Muslimin (Hezbullah) group facilitated the meeting between Hamas and Fatah delegates in a friendly atmosphere.
The conference decided some points, one of them is the need to pursue the unity of all Palestinian factions (parties). (T/P04/E1)
