Hollande Calls Up Military Reserves, Extends State of Emergency

Paris, 10 Syawal 1437/15 July 2016 (MINA) – President Francois Hollande called up military reserves and extended the state of emergency that gives the government special powers after 77 died in a terrorist attack in Nice, bloomberg.com reported.

“The terrorist nature of the attack cannot be denied,” Hollande said in the early hours of Friday.

“We must show absolute vigilance  and determination. All of France is under the threat of Islamic terrorism.”

Hollande said he will travel to Nice Friday to see victims and assess the sitituation.

He added that it is not yet know if the attacker was working alone or had accomplices. (T/R07/R01)
