Gaza City, 09 Sya’ban 1437/17 May 2016 (MINA) – Hamas yesterday reiterated that it does not recognise the Israeli occupation of Palestine, pledging not to concede any centimetre of its land to the Zionist project, Quds Press reported.

In a statement released to mark the 68th anniversary of the Nakba, Hamas said: “On the same day, 68 years ago, the Palestinians were involved in the battle of defending their land and their holy sites.”

“Palestinians have paid with their blood which could have been saved had the world raised the slogan of justice. However, unfortunately, the Palestinians were violently forced out of their homeland and obliged to live in refugee camps, which witness their suffering and misery.”

Hamas added in the statement: “The aim of our enemy was to dominate out land, holy sites, history, personality and existence, using all means of power, including propaganda, lying, treachery and terrorism.”

Palestinians recognised the “conspiracy” and could “distinguish” between the right and the wrong and between the real leadership and the fake leadership. “Therefore, they supported the real leadership and could put a limit to the Zionist policies.”

Concluding its statement, Hamas appealed to the Arab regimes to help Palestinian refugees and until they return to their homeland. (T/R07/R01)
