Great March of Return to Resume on Friday - Organizers

A number of Palestinians are preparing to roll back the Great Return of March action.

Gaza, MINA – The international committee in charge of coordinating the Great March of Return vowed Tuesday to continue the peaceful demonstrations along the eastern borders of Gaza Strip in the coming days.

Hundreds of activists from Palestinian groups and sympathizers from Arab and international civil society organizations will join dozens of thousands of residents of Gaza in a mass rally, due this Friday, KUNA reported, citing the Hamas-led committee in a press release.

The coming demonstrations will be part of a plan, agreed by the Palestinian groups in the Strip, to escalate the peaceful protests in areas close to the borders with Israel until the siege of Gaza is lifted, the statement said.

The committee urged all participants in the demonstrations to remain peaceful and never give the Israeli occupation forces any pretext to use force against them.

In synchronization with the planned rally along Gaza borders, a second wave of protests will be organized in dozens of cities around the globe in solidarity with the Palestinian refugees, it added. (T/RS5/RS1)
