Gaza, 17 Dzulqa’dah 1435/12 September 2014 (MINA) – The Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine (DFLP) organized a march in the Gaza Strip on Thursday to call for national unity.

Participants marched under banners reading: “Saving the Unity to break the siege and rebuild,” Ma’an News Agency quoted by Mi’raj Islamic News Agency (MINA) as reporting.

The DFLP called upon the unity government to “take its role in rebuilding issues, solving social issues and working to secure infrastructure to provide security for residents.”

DFLP official Saleh Zeidan said, “what is needed now is meeting the priorities of Palestinians, rebuilding the Gaza Strip and breaking the siege.”

Palestinians displaced by Israeli airstrikes, who are now living in temporary shelters, also took part in the march and urged the government to provide accommodation before winter arrives.

“Where is the world? We have been thrown between schools for three months,” Maysun al-Barbari, a woman who has been staying in a shelter for three months and still cannot find another place to live in, said.

Meanwhile, The Palestinian Ministry of Health in Gaza issued a report stating that Israeli missiles and shells, fired against the Palestinian population of Gaza since July 8, led to the death of 2145 Palestinians, including 578 children, 263 women, and 102 elderly.
