Gaza, 23 Ramadan 1435/21 July 2014 (MINA) – Gazan people celebrated the success of al Qassam Brigades, the military wing of the Islamic resistance movement Hamas which captured an Israeli soldier named Shaul Aaron identification number 6092065, Sunday (20/7) in eastern Gaza City.

The people of Gaza who are in mourning with many casualties due to Israeli occupation attacks, instantly relieved by the announcement, Miraj Islamic News Agency (MINA)’s correspondent reported from Gaza on Monday.

Sound of Takbir echoed throughout the Gaza Strip, as if Eid Fitr moment come early in Gaza. They were on the streets of Gaza city to celebrate the news.

People in al Shifa hospital, Gaza City, where many refugees gathered also to shout Takbir. In the war which they call “Ashful Ma’kul”, al Qassam created a surprise by capturing Israeli soldier. They also managed to make a surprise with the launching of latest rockets type R160 that reached targets as far as Haifa around 150 miles north of the Gaza Strip for the first time as well as the launching of their drone.

Al Qassam has reached good achievements in this war, Israeli media even claimed that Al Qassam has done what has never been done by Arab armies. Al Qassam managed to shake almost all Israel with unexpected rockets.

The Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement said on Saturday evening that moving the ground operation into Israeli territory is “a critical development” in the conflict.

A spokesperson for Hamas, Fawzy Barhoum, said in a brief statement quoted by Turkey’s Anadolu Agency that this tactic has shocked the Israeli enemy. “Israel has had to abort its plans,” he claimed. “We have confused its calculations,” Fawzy said as quoted by MEMO.

The military wing of Hamas, the Ezzedine Al-Qassam Brigades, also announced on Saturday evening the killing of 11 Israeli soldiers in two operations inside Israel. One Al-Qassam fighter was killed during one of the operations.

Israel has not responded to Hamas’s claim. However, it did announce the death of two soldiers, including one senior officer.

Meanwhile, Egypt’s strategic military expert General Safwat El-Zayat said the Israeli occupation army’s decision to initiate the ground operation is clear evidence of its failure to suppress the Palestinian resistance through the aerial operation waged against the enclave for nearly two weeks.

In an interview with Al-Jazeera Mubasher Misr, El-Zayat pointed out that the Israeli occupation army is trying to create a safe area on the outskirts of Gaza because it is afraid of the anti-tank missiles system possessed by the Palestinian resistance. (L/K01/P04/E01)
