Ramallah, 21 Dzulhijjah 1434/26 october 2013 (MINA) –  President Mahmoud Abbas’ Fatah movement condemned Saturday an Israeli ban on a visit by a European Parliament delegation to the Gaza Strip.

A statement by Fatah International Relations Commissions (FIRC) said the planned visit by members of the European Parliament’s Delegation to the Palestinian Legislative Council (DPLC) aimed at studying the impact of the Israeli blockade imposed on the Gaza Strip and to meet activists in social, political and academic spheres in Gaza.

Six members of an EU Parliament delegation to the Palestinian Legislative Council were due to visit Gaza from Oct. 27-30 had the full support of Martin Schulz, President of the European Parliament, WAFA, Palestinian News & Information Agency quoted by Mi’raj News Agency (MINA) as reporting.

It was also going to focus on vital public services such as schools, health and food distribution centers of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA), said the statement.

“The Israeli abusive behavior shows the ugly offensive face of the occupation authorities within their barbaric actions not only toward the Palestinians but also toward the international community, which was clearly shown by their insisting to defy the international will as well as attacking the principles of the  international legitimacy, laws and charters,” it added.

“The Israeli occupation efforts to hide their crimes, reality and lies are unconvincing,” it said, adding that FIRC is going to continue efforts to expose Israeli measures “and reveal their crimes against the civilian people and their stolen land.” (T/P02/E1)
