Gaza, MINA – Egyptian officials have been involved in intense talks with parties in Gaza Strip and the occupied West Bank.
Local media reported on Sunday, delegates from Palestine, resistance group Hamas and Islamic Jihad headed to Cairo to hold talks with Egyptian officials.
Hamas delegation was led by Ismail Haniyah, crossing the Rafah border into Egypt. Local sources said that the Gaza Strip talks with Egypt were not widely disseminated to the media.
The Islamic Jihad delegation also crossed the Rafah border to meet Egyptian officials, according to the group’s spokesman, Mosab Al-Barem.
The visit came just two days after the Egyptian intelligence delegation held talks in Gaza on Friday with Hamas leaders.
The meeting discussed the development of Palestine, the proposed Hamas-Israeli ceasefire and inter-group reconciliation in Palestine. (T/Sj/P2)
