CHINA RENEWS STANCE ON PEACEFUL SOLUTION TO CRISIS IN SYRIA

       Beijing, 25 Rabiul Awal 1434/6 February 2013 (MINA) – Syria and China on Tuesday exchanged viewpoints and visions about the crisis in Syria and means for solving it.

       Deputy Foreign and Expatriates Minister, Faisal Mikdad, held talks with his Chinese counterpart, Zhai Jun, at Chinese Foreign Ministry HQ in Beijing in which he reviewed the political program to solve the crisis in Syria and the executive steps taken by the Syrian government in this regard.

      The Chinese diplomat renewed his country’s adherence to the necessity of finding peaceful solutions to the crisis in Syria according to UN Charter, the international law and Geneva Statement, without allowing any foreign intervention in Syria’s domestic affairs.

      Mikdad expressed his gratitude to the Chinese side for the stances adopted by Beijing regarding Syria, according to Syrian news agency (SANA) report monitored by Miraj News Agency (MINA), Wednesday morning.

      Later in the meeting, the two sides reviewed issues of mutual concerns regarding the bilateral relations and means of upgrading them in different domains.

       The talks were attended by Assistant Foreign and Expatriates Minister, Ahmad Arnous, Syria’s Ambassador in Beijing, Imad Moustafa and Director General of the Department of West Asian and North African Affairs of the Chinese Foreign Ministry, Chen Xiaodong. (T/P014/E1)
