Ramallah, 09 Rajab 1438/06 April 2017 (MINA) – Foreign Minister Riyad Malki Wednesday discussed with European Union representative in Jerusalem Ralph Tarraf the latest political developments, WAFA reported.

Malki, who met Tarraf at his Ramallah office, briefed the EU official of the Israeli measures in the occupied Palestinian territories, particularly in occupied Jerusalem and Al-Aqsa Mosque.
He pressed the EU to push Israel to stop all settlement activities, stressing that Israeli measures will not bring peace and security to the area.
Malki thanked the EU for its support of the Palestinians and peace efforts.
Tarraf, according to the Foreign Ministry statement, reiterated the EU position that supports the establishment of a Palestinian state on the 1967 borders and said the EU will exert more effort to push forward the peace process and negotiations in order to protect the two-state solution.

He also reiterated the EU position on settlements, which it considers illegal and obstacle to peace. (T/RS5/RS1)
