INDONESIAN MUSLIMS URGE WASHINGTON TO STOP ISRAELI AGGRESSION

Jakarta, 15 Shawwal 1435/11 August 2014 (MINA) – Thousands of Muslims from Jakarta and the surrounding areas carried out long-march toward Embassy of the United States (US) in Jakarta,  Sunday afternoon.

Jama’ah Muslimin (Hizbullah) and Aqsa Working Gorup (AWG) coordinated the event. They urged US government to stop Israeli attacks against Gaza, Palestine.

The demonstrators who came from Jakarta, Bogor, Depok, Bekasi, Banten, Bandung, Tasikmalaya, Sukabumi, Garut and Lampung gathered in the road near National Monument/ Monumen Nasional (Monas) after dhuhur (midday) prayers.

Then They moved to the United States embassy. They walked wearing a headband and bringing black flag read “Allah akbar”. They also waved Palestinian and Indonesia flags.

Marchers waved posters that read: “Time for Unity against Israel”, “Jamaah Muslimin (Hizbullah)”, “Stop Murder”, “Caliphate of minhajin nubuwwah (Caliphate following prophet) is solution to stop brutality of Zionists” and some others waved other posters.

Chairman of Coordinator of the Peace Action of Palestine Solidarity, Abdul Malik, said, the demonstration was triggered by United States decision to increase its delivery of weapons to Israeli occupation regime.

“On behalf of the Muslims in Indonesia, we urge US government to stop military aid to Israel that are used for killing Palestinians,” he told Mi’raj Islamic News Agency (MINA)’s reporter.

The action involving Muslims from all ages also demanded International Criminal Court action to prosecute Israel for war crimes in Gaza, Palestine.

Meanwhile, Agus Sudarmaji, Chairman of Aqsa Working Group, an institution focusing on the struggle for liberation of Al-Aqsa and Palestine, stated that the peaceful protest proved that Muslims are determined in liberating Al-Aqsa and supporting Palestinian struggle to achive independence.

“Muslims have not exhausted yet, Muslims are always ready in defending their brothers and sisters, whoever and wherever they are,” said Agus.

” All components of Muslims should do the actions alternatively in everywhere,” he added. (L/P09/Syt/E01)
