SYRIAN AIR FORCE TARGETS ISIL-HELD AREAS NEAR HASAKAH
Hasakah, Syria, 9 Ramadan 1435/7 July 2014 (MINA) – The pro-regime warplanes bombed on Sunday villages around the city of Shaddadi in Hasakah province, northeast of Syria.
The city of Shaddadi is for months under the control of al-Qaeda offshoot group of the Islamic State, previously known as the Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant (ISIL), ARA News quoted by Mi’raj Islamic News Agency (MINA) as reporting.
Ahmed al-Husseini, civil activist based in the city of Hasakah, stated to ARA News that the pro-Assad warplanes launched several raids on the ISIL-held locations in a number of villages around the city of Shaddadi in Hasakah countryside.
“The pro-Assad warplanes bombed al-Sabaa Arbeen village (5 km north of Shaddadi city) which is located on the road between Hasakah city and Shaddadi, causing material damage, without reports of casualties,” Husseini said.
The pro-regime forces intensified its operations against the ISIL-held areas in the countryside of Hasakah province in the last two days, especially Shaddadi city and both of Tel Hamis and Tel Birak towns and the surrouding villages. (T/P09)
