Ramallah, MINA – Israeli occupation forces raided the campus of Birzeit University, north of Ramallah, on Saturday and stormed one of its buildings, Wafa reports.
Birzeit University condemned the raid, which it said was accompanied by intimidation and terror among students as they sat for their final summer-session examinations.
The university described the raid as a blatant and explicit violation of the sanctity of the university and of international conventions and laws that guarantee the protection of educational institutions, their staff, and students, and prohibit attacks on education and disruption of the educational process.
Birzeit University, located near Ramallah in the occupied West Bank, is one of the oldest and most prominent Palestinian universities, founded in 1924.

It has long been a target of Israeli military raids and restrictions, with Israeli forces frequently storming the campus, detaining students, and disrupting academic activities.
The university has been a symbol of Palestinian higher education and national identity, and its students have been active in political and social movements.
The raid during final examinations is a particularly egregious violation, as it disrupted students’ ability to complete their academic requirements and created a climate of fear and intimidation.
International humanitarian law, including the Fourth Geneva Convention, protects educational institutions during armed conflict and prohibits attacks on schools, universities, and other educational facilities.
