Gaza, MINA – More than 2,900 children are missing in Gaza as a result of Zionist Israeli attacks, according to a report by the Palestinian Center for Missing Persons and Enforced Disappearances.
In a statement marking Palestinian Child’s Day on April 5, the organization stated that missing children in Gaza due to Zionist Israeli strikes are part of the ongoing humanitarian tragedy in the coastal enclave, citing Palinfo on Monday.
Data indicates that approximately 2,700 children remain buried under the rubble of buildings destroyed by Zionist Israeli attacks, out of a total of about 8,000 missing persons in Gaza.
Additionally, more than 21,510 children have been martyred during 29 months of Zionist Israeli aggression in Gaza, reflecting the immense impact of the attacks on the most vulnerable group.

The center affirmed that this situation represents an unprecedented humanitarian crisis, in which Gaza’s children face death, loss, and enforced disappearance due to the ongoing Zionist Israeli onslaught.
Furthermore, around 200 children have been reported missing without a trace in various areas of Gaza. The organization noted that these children may have been subjected to enforced disappearance by the Zionist Israeli military or killed without their bodies being recovered.
The report also revealed that most children went missing while heading to humanitarian aid distribution points or trying to obtain food in high-risk areas. Others were reported missing while collecting firewood or returning to their destroyed homes in search of items to help them survive amid the crisis.
The human rights center emphasized that thousands of children still buried under rubble constitute a serious violation of human dignity and international humanitarian law.

Additionally, testimonies from released detainees indicate that a number of children have suffered severe violations during detention, while the fate of other children remains unknown to this day.
The center called for immediate international action to stop the tragedy of missing children in Gaza, including the opening of safe corridors for rescue teams and expediting the evacuation of victims from the rubble.
They also demanded an independent international investigation into cases of enforced disappearance of children in Gaza and urged the disclosure of the fate of all missing or detained children.[]
