Jeddah, MINA – Al-Hilal hosted Al-Sadd in the round of 16 of the 2025-26 AFC Elite Champions League at Prince Abdullah Al-Faisal Sports City Stadium in Jeddah on Monday.
Simone Inzaghi, the coach of the team nicknamed “The Boss,” used a 4-1-4-1 formation, while Roberto Mancini, the coach of Al-Sadd, employed a 4-2-3-1 formation.
It took Karim Benzema (90) 15 minutes to pose a significant threat to Al-Sadd’s goal, but he encountered a solid defense.
Al-Sadd also threatened in the 21st minute through defender Pedro Miguel (2) who aimed for the far post, but his shot went just wide.
Finally, in the 29th minute, the deadlock was broken.

Starting with a through ball to Theo Hernandez (19), the ball, chased to the back line, was delivered as a cutback to Sergej Milinkovic-Savic (22) in the penalty box.

The score was 1-0 to Al-Hilal.
However, the lead was short-lived as Al-Sadd equalized in the 36th minute.
