AFF U-17 Championship 2026: Indonesia Thrashes Timor Leste 4-0

Gresik, MINA – The Indonesian U-17 national team faced Timor Leste in their first group match of the 2026 AFF U-17 Championship at Gelora Joko Samudro Stadium, Gresik, on Monday evening.

Coach Kurniawan Dwi Yulianto had previously stated that he was targeting a championship in the tournament.

The first half of the match began.

In the first minute, the Young Garuda immediately pressed with an attack that resulted in a corner kick.

After continuously pounding the Timor Leste defense, Indonesia finally scored its first goal in the 6th minute.

The Young Garuda captain, Putu Ekayana (4), successfully shot into the net, leaving goalkeeper Baptista Anin (12) unable to block.

GOAL! Score 1-0.

East Timor Leste began to boldly attack in the 13th minute.

In the 17th minute, Indonesia attacked again.

Peres Tjoe (12), who beat two opposing players on the left side of Timor Leste’s defense, sent a pass to Dava Yunna (7), who immediately shot in front of the goal.

However, the ball was blocked by goalkeeper Baptista. The rebound was then found by Putu Ekayana (4). The Balinese captain scored again.

In the 37th minute, Garuda Muda scored again. A cross from the left was met by Ridho (11). The ball was blocked by a Timor Leste player’s head, creating a rebound.

The ball returned to Ridho’s feet, who immediately made his second attempt.

GOAL! Goalkeeper Baptista was unable to block the ball. He had to pick it up in his own net for the third time.

Ridho and several other Muslim players immediately prostrated themselves in gratitude.

In the 43rd minute, it was Dava Yunna’s (7) turn to score the fourth goal.

From a corner kick, Sean Kastor (13) met the ball and passed to Dava Yunna.

Dava met the pass with a precise bicycle kick. Again, goalkeeper Baptista was helpless.

GOAL! The score was 4-0.

Goalless Second Half

In the second half, Timor Leste was able to attack and pressure Indonesia, even registering their first shot on target.

Timor Leste was more organized and strong defensively. This was evident in the Garuda Muda’s failure to score any additional goals until the end of the match. Similarly, Timor Leste was unable to score a single goal in return.
