Salfit, MINA – A Palestinian man was shot dead early Thursday morning inside his home in the town of Sarta, west of Salfit, during a predawn raid by Israeli occupation forces, according to the Palestine Information Center.

Local sources identified the victim as 32-year-old Mustafa Khatib. According to residents, Israeli troops stormed his house and opened fire, killing him instantly. Footage circulating online showed Khatib’s lifeless body lying on the floor of his home, underscoring the brutality of the raid.

The killing in Sarta comes just a day after Israeli forces shot and killed 29-year-old Mohammad Zayed in the town of al-Yamun, west of Jenin. In that incident, troops surrounded a house, opened fire, and later seized Zayed’s body, preventing his family from burying him.

The back-to-back killings have sparked outrage among Palestinians, who see them as part of a broader pattern of extrajudicial executions carried out by Israeli forces in the occupied West Bank. Human rights groups have documented a sharp rise in such incidents, often involving undercover units or nighttime raids that give victims little chance to defend themselves.

Local leaders have condemned the shootings, calling them a “new escalation” in Israeli military tactics. They have also appealed to the international community to intervene and pressure Israel to stop what they describe as a campaign of targeted killings.

Meanwhile, the Israeli military has not issued an official statement on either incident, a silence that critics say reflects a policy of impunity for soldiers involved in lethal operations.[]
