Tehran, MINA – A senior military adviser to Iran’s Supreme Leader, Mohsen Rezaei, has stated that the Islamic Republic will not halt its military operations until all economic and other sanctions are fully lifted.

Tehran has reaffirmed its commitment to continue fighting until it secures binding international guarantees to prevent future interference by the United States, Press TV reported on Tuesday.

In a televised address, Rezaei said that in addition to the removal of sanctions, Iran is demanding full compensation for all damages resulting from the ongoing conflict.

He added that Iran’s military remains on full alert, with operations on the ground proceeding according to strategies set by the central leadership.

Rezaei said the escalation could have ended sooner had the United States been willing to pursue a ceasefire. However, he accused Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of continuing to provoke the conflict.

According to Rezaei, by the 15th day of the conflict, Washington had effectively realized that there was no viable path to victory in the confrontation.

Echoing the stance, Iran’s Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf said on platform X that the Iranian people demand severe punishment and deterrent measures against the aggressors.

Historically, Iran has been subject to multiple layers of economic sanctions since the 1979 revolution, which were further tightened after the United States unilaterally withdrew from the nuclear agreement (JCPOA) in 2018.

Iran’s demand for “binding guarantees” reflects Tehran’s deep mistrust of Western diplomatic commitments, which it says often shift with changes in leadership in the White House.[]
