40 POLITICAL PRISONERS STILL IN PA PRISONS

Gaza City, 14 Rajab 1435/13 May 2014 (MINA) – Mustafa Barghouti, Head of the Public Freedom Committee, said that 40 youths are still politically imprisoned in PA prisons in the West Bank.

He assured that efforts are being made in order to end their case, ALRAY, Palestinian  Media Agency quoted by Mi’raj Islamic News Agency (MINA) as reporting.

“The number of political prisoners are less than ever in the West Bank. We are working to end this file.” Barghouti said.

In a separate development, member of Fatah Central Committee, Azzam al-Ahmad, will visit the Gaza Strip next week to discuss forming the national consensus government.

On April 23, Hamas and Fatah signed a reconciliation deal in Gaza with the aim of healing the rifts that marred their relations since 2007.

The deal stipulates the formation of a national unity government until legislative and presidential elections are held in the occupied West Bank and the Gaza Strip.(T/P02/E01)
