Youth Groups Launch a Palestinian Cultural Week in Qatar

Doha, MINA – Palestinian youth groups in Qatar have launched a week of cultural and awareness-raising events to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the Balfour declaration that led to the Palestinian Nakba (catastrophe), PIC reported.

The events started with a symposium on the latest developments in Jerusalem held at the University of Qatar in the presence of al-Jazeera reporter Najwan Samri. Later, the attendees participated in a debate about the documentary movie, “Balfour Road.”

A special Tweeting room for the trending hashtag “Balfour100” was also held at Al Jazeera Media Café in the Cultural Village in Doha. Several young men and women participated in the hashtag discussion.

Public discussions on normalization of relations with Israel and the concept of resistance will be held as part of the cultural week.

Several youth groups are participating in organizing this week, including Youth for Jerusalem, Youth against Normalization, the student council of Qatar University. The Popular Conference for the Palestinians Abroad is also taking part in the activity.(R/R04/RE1)
