KUWAIT YOUTH LAUNCHES INT’L CAMPAIGN SUPPORTING AL AQSA

Kuwait, 15 Jumadil Akhir 1435/15 April 2014 (MINA) – The Kuwait-based Youth for Jerusalem coalition said it intends to launch an international campaign themed “We are all protectors of the Aqsa Mosque”.

Youth of Jerusalem coalition explained that its campaign would include cultural symposiums, conferences, sit-ins outside international organizations, and postings on social networking websites.

Head of the coalition Tareq Al-Shaya stated that the campaign is aimed at supporting the Aqsa Mosque in the face of the Jewish dangers threatening its existence, Palestinian Information center (PIC) quoted by Mi’raj Islamic News Agency (MINA).

“The coalition depends on cultural means to defend the Aqsa Mosque and it holds courses and intellectual conferences to introduce the issue of the Mosque and its history,” Shaya added.

“Nowadays, we have launched a global campaign titled ‘We are all protectors of the Aqsa Mosque’ and it will be based on staging sit-ins outside international organizations to urge them to take firm positions to save the Aqsa Mosque,” he said.

The Youth for Jerusalem coalition was founded in 2006 during the first youth forum in Yemen and later it was able to open 21 branches in other countries.

In a related context, second deputy speaker of the Palestinian legislative council (PLC) Hasan Khreisheh called for forming a popular committee advocating Jerusalem in the face of Israel’s Judaization activities.

“The Palestinian people, their factions and leadership are demanded to shoulder their responsibilities to confront the hordes of settlers and curb the dangers threatening the Aqsa Mosque, which went beyond any daily violations,” Khreisheh told Quds Press on Sunday.
