WEST JAVA PTAIS DEVELOPS ISLAMIC NEWS COOPERATION WITH MINA

        Jakarta, 15 Safar 1435/18 December 2013 (MINA) – West Java’s Private Islamic Universities  (PTAIS) Coordinator invited Islamic universities in West Java to develop news and information cooperation with the International Islamic News Agency  based in Indonesia, MINA (Mi’raj Islamic News Agency).

         Deputy Coordinator of Institutional  field in the Private Islamic University Region II of West Java and Banten, Prof. Dr. Tajul Arifin, MA. disclosed that invitation to PTAS during an official visit to MINA’s second office  in Bogor, Wednesday (18/12).

        “Private Universities in West Java should take advantages of MINA presence in order to obtain information  on Muslim world, Palestine, Islamic education and science  as well as the latest technology,”  said Arifin who is also a Professor of Hadith at the Faculty of Shariah and Law of the State Islamic University (UIN) in Bandung.

        According Prof Arifin, the news about the Islamic world in general, and more specifically about the Palestinians have not got enough portion of fair and balanced news coverage by the mass media so far.

       Therefore, MINA  as a three-language news agency backed-up by correspondents in Palestine, Middle East, and some in African countries becomes new opportunity for the people to get a fair and balanced news of the Muslim world,  said the man who finished his post-graduate in Australian University of Adelaide.

        He also hopes MINA  to supply news and information  on education and technology  related to private Islamic Universities  interest in particular and Indonesia in general.

       “We will  try to spread about it to all PTAIS in West Java in particular,” he said, after visiting Al Fatah  Islamic High School (STAI)  in  Bogor.

       However, Arifin also hope there would be further international network among Islamic universities mediated by MINA.

        He believes preachers who deals with online da’wah through online media like MINA could  provide more knowledge and greater insight for Muslim ummah in particular and mankind in general, he added. Prof Arifin, during his visit to MINA Office was  accompanied by  officials of STAI Al Fatah, Drs. K.H. Yakhsyallah Mansur, M.A. and Drs. T.Sunarto, M.M. (T/P03/E1)
