Indonesian Activists Demand for Apology from UK Goverment over Balfour Declaration

Discussion entnitled Denouncng 100 Years of Balfour Declaration at the Palestinian Embaasy in Jakarta, Thursday.

Jakarta, MINA – A number of activists who are members of the Indonesian Consortium for Liberation of Al-Aqsa (ICLA) have issued a joint statement in commemoration of the Balfour Declaration which paved the way for the birth of the State of Israel and the cause of occupation in the land of Palestine to date.

The joint statement, issued by Focus Group Discussion (GD) after a discussion on Thursday at the Palestinian Embassy in Jakarta, demands the British government to be responsible, apologize and compensate the Palestinians.

The consorcium consists of several institutions focusing on Palestinian cause such as the Aqsa Working Group (AWG), Syahban Jamaah Muslimin (Hizbullah), the Medical Emergency Rescue Committee (MER-C), the Mi’raj Islamic News Agency (MINA), Radio Silaturrahim (Rasil).

“The Balfour Declaration must be challenged because this declaration has been exploited by the Zionists to legitimize the Jews enter and colonize Palestine. As a result, the Palestinians are still suffering and colonized by the British action. It should not be tolerated, “said Nur Ikhwan Abadi, Secretary General of the Aqsa Working Group (AWG).

Here’s the following statements:

  1. Reminding internasional citizens that Balfour Declaration is illegal and that is the so called state of Israel also illegally built.
  2. Demand the British government to deliver its apology and compensation towards Palestinian.
  3. Denounce the British PM Theresa May for shameful support towards the Declaration and her support on the apartheid state.
  4. Supporting dozens activists from British and other countries who currently on their last journey in what so called Walk to Jerussalem program to Mark the Declaration as a nothing to proud of.
  5. Call on Indonesian government to realize its support towards Palestinian people and their independence dream.
  6. Call upon all factions and elements in Palestine to strengthen unity and realize national reconciliation that has been achieved based on Islamic aqidah and brotherhood, not just political and economic reconciliation.
  7. Ask the Indonesian government and all Muslim-majority countries to realize in supporting and seeking the independence of the Palestinian people.
  8. Call upon all Muslims to make the Qur’an and Sunnah the only guidance as QS. Ali Imran verse 103 mentions urging the unifying and stopping divisions against Israel and International Zionism.
  9. Call on the Palestinian people to remain steadfast, patient, and continue to do everything against the Israeli occupation at the same time wishing Allah Ta’ala to grant strength in liberating Palestine and Al Aqsa Mosque.(L/RE1/RS%)
