Ankara, MINA — Turkey’s state aid agency held fast-breaking (iftar) dinners in both South American and European countries as part of its campaign in the Muslim holy month of Ramadan, Anadolu Agency reported, citing the agency’s announcement on Monday.
At least 350 people attended the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TIKA) agency’s iftar program in Paramaribo, the capital of Suriname, the statement said.
Suriname has the highest percentage of Muslims in South America, it added.
The statement said that as well as the iftar dinner, Ramadan food aid package to 100 needy Surinamese families were distributed by TIKA.

TIKA also held iftar dinners in Ukraine’s capital Kiev and Albania’s capital Tirana including bureaucrats, NGOs, and politicians, said the statement. .(R/R04RS5)
