SYRIAN CABINET: PROCEDURES TO IMPROVE LIVING STANDARD OF CITIZENS

       Damascus, 10 Sha’ban 1434/19 June 2013 (MINA) – Syrian  Prime Minister Wael al-Halqi said that the main obsession of the government is to improve the citizen’s standard of living in spite of the cessation of vital sectors and the increase of expenditure in order to ensure the basic materials to all citizens.

       “The government is committed to combat corruption, smuggling of oil products, punish manipulators in the national economy and the excessive increase in the prices,” al-Halqi said during a weekly Cabinet session on Tuesday (18/6), SANA reported as monitored by Mi’raj News Agency (MINA).

        He added that the government has taken a package of economic procedures to boost the capabilities of the national economy to restore the price of the Syrian

        For his part, Deputy Prime Minister, Foreign and Expatriates Minister Walid al-Moallem briefed the Cabinet on the latest developments on the international arena and their repercussions on the internal situation, reaffirming that the only solution to the crisis in Syria is through carrying out the political program.

         Deputy Premier for the Services affairs Omar Ghalawanji said that a ministerial delegation visited al-Qseir city in Homs, adding that the government has allocated an amount of 300 million SYP to be distributed in advance for the citizens whose houses were ruined by the acts of the armed terrorist groups.(T/P03/E1)
