SUSHI BAR,THE FIRST JAPANESSE RESTAURANT WITH HALAL CERTIFICATE IN INDONESIA

Jakarta , 9 Rabiul Akhir 1435/9 February 2014 (MINA) – Indonesian Muslims now can enjoy food and beverage in a halal restaurant.  The Sushi Bar Restaurant officially got halal certification from the Institute for Food , Drug , and Cosmetic Assesment Indonesian Ulema Council (LPPOM MUI).

“Alhamdulillah (thanks to God), with enough explanation and guidance from LPPOM MUI, we finally got a halal certification for our restaurant,” said Dian K. Catur, the Director of Resto Sushi Bar, Jakarta, Thursday.

Dian explained, since the opening of Sushi Bar restaurant in the mid- 2012, we already committed to provide halal Products to Indonesian people, especially for Muslims.

Fatwa Commission of MUI has given  halal certification to Sushi Bar which is located at Plaza FX Sudirman and Kuningan City Mall since January 8, 2014. ”After an audit of at least 178 menu items , Sushi Bar got predicate A ( very good ) for Halal Assurance System (HAS),” said the Deputy Director Of LPPOM MUI Jakarta, Osmena Gunawan.

The halal logo can be imprinted on the product after the company acquired halal certification from LPPOM MUI and has been approved byFood and Drugs Supervision Agency (POM) Ministry of Health . Halal logo on the label means that the materials do not contain unlawfull ingredients.

Japanese foods are generally used haram (forbidden) materials.  To ensure the halal products , Sushi Bar uses Indonesian local ingredients. The restaurant also entrust the food precessing to the professional chefs who has experienced for years on halal food.

Dian hoped , Sushi Bar can be the form of embodiment of her dreams, to have a halal restaurant with different concept based on Religious rules of halalan thoyiban (halal and good). ” In our restaurant, Muslims employees have to perform five Time prayer, including Friday prayer in congregation, ” said Dian.
