SETTLERS ATTACK, OCCUPY, HOME IN IBRAHIMI MOSQUE YARD

        Hebron, 2 Muharram 1434/5 November 2013 (MINA) – the Radio Bethlehem 2000 has reported that a number of extremist Israeli settlers occupied a Palestinian home in the yard of the Ibrahimi Mosque in the southern West Bank city of Hebron.

        Head of the Waqf and Endowment Department in Hebron Taiseer Abu Sneina said that the settlers broke into the home, south of the mosque, and that they brought with them digging equipment,

       Beds, and supplies while heavily guarded by dozens of soldiers. Internasional Middle East Media Center (IMEMC) quoted by Mi’raj News Agency as reporting, Wednesday (5/11).

      Abu Sneina added that the home is not roofed yet, and is located near the area where Israeli soldiers have a permanent roadblock and an electronic gate. Its location is of great significance as it overlooks the Ibrahimi mosque.

      Abu Sneina added that the illegal takeover only comes a few days after extremist settlers occupied a Palestinian home in the yard of the mosque, and that the Waqf departments filed a lawsuit demanding their removal.

      He warned that the settlers are acting on occupying more Palestinian homes and property adjacent to the mosque, and said that such serious violation require massive actions to protect the mosque and all holy site. (T/P012/E1)
