Riyadh, MINA – The Saudi Arabian government has launched the 1447 H Hajj Health Awareness Guide in eight languages to improve health protection for millions of pilgrims arriving from various countries to perform the Hajj this year.

The Saudi Ministry of Health stated that the guide carries the slogan “Hajj in a Healthy State” and is designed to accompany pilgrims from before departure until the performance of rituals in the Holy Land.

The guide’s materials cover prevention of heatstroke, protection from respiratory infections in crowded spaces, food safety, and first aid steps in emergency conditions, as reported by The Arab News on Saturday.

The guide is available in Arabic, English, French, Urdu, Persian, Indonesian, Turkish, and Malay. The Saudi government stated that the use of multiple languages aims to ensure health information can be understood by pilgrims from various national and cultural backgrounds, including those from Southeast Asia who arrive in large numbers each Hajj season.

Additionally, the health guide includes special attention for vulnerable groups such as the elderly, pregnant women, and pilgrims with chronic illnesses.

Saudi authorities hope these preventive measures will reduce the risk of health complications during the Hajj, which is known for extreme temperatures and the crowding of millions of people in one location.

The launch of this guide is part of the Health Sector Transformation Program within the framework of Saudi Vision 2030, initiated by Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.

In recent years, Saudi Arabia has continued to strengthen its healthcare system and Hajj management through digitalization, increasing hospital capacity, and utilizing technology to monitor pilgrim movement and anticipate emergencies.

This step is also being taken amid Saudi Arabia’s increased attention to regional security and the stability of public services following geopolitical tensions in the Middle East, including threats to energy routes and Gulf regional security.[]
