Sabri Urges Muslims to Stand on Guard to Islamophobia Propaganda
Jerusalem, MINA – Head of the Supreme Islamic Commission, Ekrema Sabri, called on the Palestinians to combine forces, help the needy people on the occasion of Eid al-Adhha (Feast of Sacrifice), and face up to anti-Muslim ad hominem campaigns.
Reminding the Muslims of the importance of Eid, Sabri said Udhiya (sacrficie) demands that certain eligibility criteria must be met. Any sane, adult, Muslim male or female who possesses money must perform the duty of Udhiya, PIC reported.
The health and condition of the animal is also very important. Animals that are weak, blind, physically disabled, or those who are young, have broken horns or no teeth are ineligible. Regarding the types of animals that can be used, people generally opt for a goat. However sheep, cow, bull, or buffalo are also acceptable.
Sabri stressed the need to donate meat to the needy people, orphans, and poor family members.
He also urged the Palestinians and Muslims to visit sick people and prisoners’ families.
Sheikh Sabri further called for protecting Islamic holy sites in Occupied Jerusalem and Palestine and to stand on guard to Islamophobic propagandas.(R/R04/RS5)
