PRCF GIVES HEALTH SERVICES IN GAZA

       Gaza City, 28 Jumadil Awwal 1434/9 April2013 (MINA) – A Palestinian Children Relief Fund (PRCF) on Thursday (7/4) officially opened health services for children in the city of Gaza.

       Chief of Cardiology Hospital Oakland, California, Dr. Ziad Saba, who led the humanitarian mission has begun to provide health services to the children in Khan Younis Hospital, Gaza. PRCF reported on its official website as monitored by Mi’raj News Agency (MINA).

       “This is a part of PCRF effort to provide direct treatment services for children in Gaza, especially for the Israeli assault victims, particularly who has heart disease,” said PRCF.

        In its official statement, PRCF stated that this institution is an independent and non-profit focuses on health care for children in Palestine and other countries in the Middle East.

      The institute was formed in cooperation wit physicians in the United States and Britain who are concerned with humanitarian missions, especially in areas of conflict of Palestine and the surrounding countries. PRCF was founded in 1991.

      Dr. Saba has several times led humanitarian mission in Palestine. PCRF has successfully helped dozens of Palestinian children. Previously, PRCF also carried out its mission in Ramallah, Haifa and other areas in Palestine.

       Dr. Ziad Saba was a chief of pediatric cardiology at Children’s Hospital of Oakland, California, United States. He also became a director of the catheterization laboratory at the hospital since 1997. Saba graduated from Duke University, in pediatrics and pediatric cardiology department. He is also a senior physician at Children’s Hospital of Boston in the field of interventional cardiology.
       He is a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics and the American College of Cardiology. Dr. Saba began running humanitarian missions to Palestine since 1999.
       On 2007, Dr. Ziad Sababecame a chief of pediatric cardiology at Children’s Hospital of Oakland, California, and Dr. Alistair Cranston, an anesthesiologist at Children’s Hospital of Birmingham in England began treating Palestinian children with various diseaes in Ramallah and West Bank .
       In 2006, Dr. Ziad Saba went to Beirut, Lebanon for Palestinian refugees in the camps. He managed to make cooperation with some hospitals there to provide assistance if the medical equipment at the hospital have not exist yet in Palestinian hospital.
       Partner in arms of Dr Dr Saba is Alistair Cranston, from Birmingham hospital, England. They have several times within a team in a humanitarian mission to help the oppressed Palestinians. (T/P04/P03/E1)
