Jakarta, MINA – Chairman of the Presidential Aid Committee of the State of Palestine, Mahmoud Sidqi Al-Habbash, revealed the latest conditions at Al-Aqsa Mosque, which continues to face obstruction of access to worship. He conveyed this during a meeting with BAZNAS RI in Jakarta on Friday.
During the meeting, Al-Habbash also presented a critical picture of the humanitarian situation facing the Palestinian people due to the crisis that has occurred through September 2026. The statement was made at the signing of a follow-up Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Cooperation for the Provision of Humanitarian and Social Assistance to the State of Palestine, at the BAZNAS RI Office in Jakarta.
Also present were Chairman of BAZNAS RI Sodik Mudjahid, Imam of Al-Aqsa Mosque, Al-Quds Sheikh Mohammad A.M. Hussein, and Palestinian Ambassador to Indonesia Abdulfattah A.K. Al-Sattiri.
“The Palestinian people are currently facing a genocidal war and experiencing extremely difficult humanitarian conditions due to this war,” explained Mahmoud Sidqi Al-Habbash. He described the escalation of the crisis that has not subsided, causing millions of people to lose access to basic daily necessities.

“Currently, more than two million people in the Gaza Strip are living without enough food, without proper drinking water, without medical treatment, without electricity, and without basic services,” he said.
Not only in Gaza, he said, but deplorable conditions also continue in the West Bank, such as killings, destruction of refugee camps, and obstruction of access to worship at Al-Aqsa Mosque. Therefore, the distribution of humanitarian aid such as food supplies, clean water, medical treatment, education, and emergency shelter facilities must continue to be pursued together.
In response, the MoU with BAZNAS RI is expected to ensure that the entire process of distributing aid from the Indonesian people is not reduced, is fast, and is on target. His party also confirmed it will supervise the implementation of the aid so that it can reach the Palestinian people. He hopes that Indonesia’s support and humanitarian cooperation through BAZNAS can continue until the realization of Palestinian independence.
On that occasion, Mahmoud also expressed appreciation for the stance of President Prabowo Subianto regarding his support for Palestine. Mahmoud said that this stance is a form of support that is highly appreciated by the Palestinian people. “Greetings from Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas and also from the Palestinian people to Indonesian President Mr. Prabowo Subianto and also to the Indonesian people,” said Mahmoud.

The meeting between the Palestinian Presidential Committee and BAZNAS RI highlights the ongoing humanitarian crisis in Gaza and the occupied West Bank, as well as the continued obstruction of access to Al-Aqsa Mosque.
The MoU signed between the two parties aims to strengthen cooperation in providing humanitarian and social assistance to the Palestinian people, ensuring that aid from Indonesia reaches those in need efficiently and effectively.
