PALESTINIAN GOVERNMENT CONDEMNS STORMING OF AL-AQSA MOSQUE

          Gaza City, 20 Dzulqa’idah 1434/26 September 1434 (MINA) – The Palestinian Government in Gaza condemned the daily storming of Al-Aqsa courtyards by Israeli settlers and soldiers, calling the Arab League and Organization of Islamic Conference to take serious actions to save the Holy Mosque.  

         It applauded , on its weekly session on Tuesday,  Khaled Meshal’s  call to consider the coming Friday as a day of anger  in support for Al-aqsa.

         The government has renewed calls for the Egyptian authorities to open the Rafah border crossing “in light of the aggravating humanitarian situation and that there are thousands of patients and students in a dire need to leave the strip”.

         It has also condemned the Egyptian media incitement against the Palestinian people and resistance groups, Alray, Palestinian Media Agency quoted by Mi’raj News Agency (MINA) as reporting.

         “This Egyptian media campaign plays into the hands of the Israeli occupation,” said the statement.

          The government expressed surprise at attempts of the Egyptian media and Egyptian official figures to justify “restrictions on the Palestinian people and tightening the siege around them”.

          It  was surprised by statements attributed to Egyptian Foreign Minister Nabil Fahmi regarding the possible use of force against Hamas in the event that the group threatened Egypt’s national security.

         “We are surprised by the statements issued by the Egyptian Foreign Ministry, these statements are not in line with Egypt’s history and role in protecting the Egyptian people, because Palestine, Al-Quds [occupied Jerusalem], the resistance and Gaza are all of great importance to Egypt,” the statement added.

         The government also denounced Mahoumd Abbas statements regarding resistance operation against the Israeli occupation in the West Bank.

         It condemned the continuous incitement made by Fatah leaders against Palestinians in the Gaza Strip. (T/P02/E1)
