Palestinian Government Calls for International Action against Settlers

Dozens of Jewish settlers storm Al-Aqsa complex.

Ramallah, MINA – The Palestinian Government called on Sunday for international, Islamic and Arabic reaction to stop Israeli settlers from breaking into Al-Aqsa Mosque.

“Israeli government takes advantage of every religious event in order to implement its colonial settlement plans,” KUNA reported, citing government spokesman Yousef Al-Mahmoud in a press release

“Such actions are clear violation of all international laws and resolutions that prevent desecration of religions and beliefs; they are violation of freedom of worship,” Al-Mahmoud added.

He stressed that assaulting religions is unacceptable, saying “a religion cannot claim that it has the right in the worshipping place of another religion just because it occupies it, this cannot be permitted by any law other than the law of occupation.”

He referred to the warnings of the Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas and Prime Minister Rami Hamdallah of the seriousness of what the occupation government is doing in this direction, which may drag the entire region into a religious war.
