PALESTINIAN GOVERNMENT AND PLC CONDEMN BULGARIAN GOVERNMENT ACTION

Gaza, 7 Rabiul Akhir 1434/16 February 2013 (MINA) – The Palestinian government and the Palestinian Legislative Council (PLC) have expressed their protest to the Bulgarian government following the storming of the residence of Palestinian parliamentary delegation by the Bulgarian security services.
“We condemn this measure which reflects the Bulgarian docility to the Israeli pressure,” Taher al-Nunu, a spokesman for the government, said, according to a report published in www.alresalah.ps monitored by Mi’raj News Agency (MINA), Saturday.
Bulgarian authorities forced Friday morning Hamas delegation from  parliamentary bloc in the Palestinian legislative council  to cut  the delegation’s short visit to the Bulgarian capital Sofia, seizing the parliamentary members of the delegation and deporting them to Turkey.
The delegation member MP Salah Bardawil told “Alresalah Net” that the Bulgarian police stormed the hotel where the delegation resides and told them they will be deported right now.
Bardawil added that Hamas delegation has a permission to enter Bulgaria and hold a number of political and popular meetings.
Bardawil attributed such action to the big penetratهion the delegation did in the political siege and the European rupture toward Hamas and its parliamentary bloc.
He said that the deportation   decision is politically devoted and it came because of pressures by Israel that made the Bulgarian Foreign Minister to order deportation of the delegation.
He stressed that the visit was a provocation to the Israeli government and European countries, which try to isolate Hamas.
Furthermore, Dr. Ahmed Bahar, the First Deputy Speaker of the Palestinian Legislative Council, condemned the storming of the residence and the deportation of the Palestinian Parliamentary delegation.
Bahr said in a statement on Friday that what happened was an irresponsible political measure that constitutes a serious affront to the Palestinian people.
It’s noteworthy that an official  delegation from  Hamas deputies in the Palestinian  Legislative Council consists of  MPs  Ismail al-Ashqar ,  Salah Bardawil,  Mushir al-Masri went  last Wednesday in a tour to some countries , including  Bulgaria as being the  member country  of the European Union to be visited .
European Union has no official relations with Hamas or the Palestinian government in the besieged Gaza Strip since 2007. (T/P02/E1)
